Opening Lines - Sarah: “Skynet sent back machines, some to kill him; one to protect him …” Skynet sends Cameron back. Is Cameron Skynet?

Where’s that from? Doesn’t make much sense to me.
January 28th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
the line is the opening text from sarah, the second part just his opinion
i don’t think that this is a discussable question. it’s just a nice line to start an episode without any hidden content in it.

Hm… yeah…
it’s probably a logical flaw.
@admin: watch the Opening plot of one of the three episodes… Sarah talks about, that Skynet is a computer system to destroy the whole world and it has send machines back… one to kill him and one to protect him. But this makes no sense… probably a flaw I think…

I didn’t notice that, but it doesn’t make sense. Cameron says in one of the episodes that John sent her back, doesn’t she? But she can’t take orders from him just yet.

BTW, any word on why there is no new episode tonight?
January 28th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
I think there’s no episode because of the State of the Union address.
January 28th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
why is that they are showing same episode they said on the 4th episode for this week so shit.

Why would Skynet send “one to protect him”?
January 29th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
Yes, an OLDER episode was shown, on Fox, at 8:00 EST before the State of the Union address. I don’t understand. Isn’t it usually shown at 9:00.

“Why would Skynet send “one to protect him”?”
Thats ironical, SkyNet has “sent” her, because SkyNet has built her originally.
February 4th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
The part that says SkyNet has sent one back to protect him is just a flaw in the opening lines.
The John Connor in the future sent Cameron back to protect the little John.
This is possible because they captured cameron and then reprogrammed her to obey the John in the future, but not the John in the past.
Any other questions?

The opening text says “…. Skynet, the computer system programmed to destroy the world. It has sent machines back through time, some to kill him, one to protect him.”
First of all, Skynet is not programmed to destroy the world! He acquired self consciousness, etc. Also, what you guys pointed out about “sending one to protect him”. Two sentences, two things wrong. I know they are trying to explain things as short as possible, but there has to be another way.

In all of these episodes, I don’t understand how all the different terminators can’t recognize each other on sight.

It’s strange how Cameron in the pilot acted like an actually girl in high school, then when it’s revealed she is a terminator, Cameron begins her robotic/terminator act. The consistency in this show is very, very flawed. The Linda-Hamilton Sarah directed by Jim Cameron was much more of a soldier/protector than the Lena-Headey Sarah. That’s more to do Jim Cameron writing/directing because he takes that stuff seriously. The showrunners of the TV show either don’t care or don’t have the time. But seriously, in the last epsidoe, when the Triple Eight is beating the crap out of Cameron, why didn’t Sarah just grab John and run? If a terminator was anywhere near the future leader of the human race, why would you risk his life by watching the fight? With all the money they spend on this fracking show, you’d think they paid the writers to have a fracking brain.
