Episode 8 and 9
Episode Information March 4th, 2008If you missed the episodes, you can download Vick’s Chip and What He Beheld.
The two part season finale of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles aired last night at 8/7 central time and lasted for two hours. In the 1st half, episode 8, is titled Vick’s Chip. The second half, episode 9, is What He Beheld. John continues to defend Cameron against Derek while Sarah gets in contact with a man to get The Turk. While this is happening, Cromartie and Agent Ellison are getting closer and closer to a conflict.
I’ll post a more in-depth summary of the finale tomorrow.

Was cameron in the car that exploded?
if she was would that be enough to kill her?
March 4th, 2008 at 8:23 am
FANTASTIC SHOW….FANTASTIC season finale…But why was the season so short??…and when can we see the next NEW show??…AND Thank You for Your web site!!
March 4th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Claude, the season was so short because of the writer’s strike.
March 4th, 2008 at 10:33 am
She probably was in the car, since not even a T can move fast enough to get out between the time the key was turned and whatever device was planted exploded. However, the explosion didn’t strike me as a particularly hot one (i.e. thermite) so she’s probably just ugly for a while with skin damage. I’m more interested in knowing why Cromartie made the decision to not do something when he had the chance.
March 4th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Love the show! I can’t get over how amazing Summer Glau is.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
Just a couple of notes on last night’s show. Cameron wearing Sarah’s nail polish? Don’t think Sarah is the type of gal who worries with nail polish. Cameron’s birthday? Does this mean the next season story line includes bring her back to life after the explosion so she can share John’s birthday?
March 4th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
cameron is not death, but she has no skin anymore. from now that would be difficult for here to walk through the streets. i think they have to find now somebody who can give here another skin like cromartie has got.
March 4th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
We just didn’t get it last night. Need someone to explain what happened.
March 4th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
Excellent back-to-back episodes. Did not see it coming that Derek guessed correctly that John was the son of his younger brother, Kyle Reese. Did not see it coming with Kyle using little girl as hostage when John himself was being held at gun point. Thought little girl was the daughter of killer - Wrong. Very good ending with Cameron getting blown up, but I am sure that she will survive (she has that bar of metal!).
March 4th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I hated the season finale. It was all over the place — did they cut out too many scenes? did they try to fit too much into these episodes?
March 4th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
When will the next season begin? Monday nights just wont be the same, but a nice treat to have 2 hours.
I agree, Brian Austin Greene has done a great job, i was very skeptical bc of the 90210 connection.
Cameron will survive, but she will not look the same. Why wouldn’t she get out and chase Sarkissian(sp?) like her instincts in the Museum?.. instead of turning the car on?
Cool to see Cromartie kick ass with the J Cash song playing. Now flushed from his lair and wont be able to lay FBI agent anymore. What will Ellison do next? Surely the FBI will believe him, or will they?
Awesome how John is growing and progressing and interesting how he’s 24 years old but only 16 from birth. The ability to see the 888’s memory is an awesome new facet to the story.
Writer strike?? There are infinite possibilities with this plot. Who needs writers? All it takes is a true Terminator fan to write this.
March 4th, 2008 at 6:41 pm
This is my favorite show this year, but I was disappointed that it was so short. Do you know when the next season will start???
March 4th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
The Johnny Cash sequence at the end was epic. The quote from Lord of the Flies cinched it. Very awesome writing in those last episodes.
March 5th, 2008 at 12:11 am
Great show. Who was that guy in the last scene blowing up Cameron? I hope she survived.
March 5th, 2008 at 12:51 am
The explosion was not enought to kill Cameron, ie Arnold from “the terminator” walks away from the exploding gas truck, however with no skin. It takes thermite to melt the exoskelton 2500 oC. This is much hoter than fuel can burn. Does this mean new skin for cameron just like cromarte. Which could mean a new actress for Cameron. Is Summer Glau signed for next season? I hope she is because she makes this show and it would not be the same with out her.
March 5th, 2008 at 1:56 am
Cameron was in the car when it exploded, but there’s no way it would kill her. She’s at least a T-888, maybe later. The T-800 from Terminator 1 survived a much bigger explosion with a tanker truck of gasoline. The T-888 Cromartie was right next to an exploding truck and seemed undamaged except for losing his flesh.
Cameron was in the truck, so she might be damaged, but no way she was seriously hurt. She might be reduced to an endoskeleton though. That would be interesting. I wonder if that would affect her voice. Cromartie seemed unable to modulate his voice as an endoskeleton, but you’d think that would be a function of a voice synthesizer rather than organic vocal cords.
This series is way better than I thought it would be. I actually look forward to it more than even Stargate.
Some interesting things in the finale. First, the scene where John Connor hits on Sherry and she gets all defensive about not being from Wichita, KA. That’s a back story waiting to be told.
Second, why did Cromartie/Kester spare Ellison? It wasn’t very terminator-like. C/K dispatched an entire FBI squad and Ellison’s survival certainly compromises C/K’s mission. Was there a no-terminate directive on Ellison because of something he does in the future?
Third, the scene with John Connor and Derek Reese in the park watching the younger Derek and Kyle Reese was just plain cool if not temporally prudent. “Happy Birthday,” great line.
Also, from the second episode… Does anyone else think that Dixon’s wife is a terminator? I thought as soon as I saw her in episode 2, and this latest episode shows that a terminator could pull that off.
March 5th, 2008 at 2:30 am
ohh was it the writer’s strike that made the season short…i thought that they made it short cause since its based between part 2 and 3 of the movie like umm i was wondering that they tried making more seasons b4 it reaches the storyline of terminator 3…but yeh something like that…damn writer’s strike….fanx for that “admin”…wish they kept going i’m so into this series
March 5th, 2008 at 5:32 am
no way, a simple car blast won’t kill cameron.. but maybe she loses her skin & fox can replace her?
March 5th, 2008 at 7:33 am
good question? was cameron in the car that exploded? she had the key to it. She would survive it, but look a lot different.
March 5th, 2008 at 9:56 am
Yep, Cameron was in that car.
Shouldn’t hurt her, maybe burn some skin off.
the real question is why did Cromartie let the FBI agent go?
A machine does what it is programmed to do.
possibly it know this FBI agent to be part od skynet later on?
March 5th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
folks, I hate to say this, as I’m an enormous fan of the Terminator films 1 and 2, and am crazy about Sarah as a character. But –
honestly, this show is terrible. the writing is sub-par most of the time, and the acting is awful, with the exception of black copy, the amazing Bruce Davison and the guy who plays the high-school friend with a crush on Cameron. this last set of episodes just about did me in. the scene a the pool makes no sense whatsoever; it’s not justified in terms of the characters’ motivation and is completely gratuitous. and what in the world does LORD OF THE FLIES have to do with what we’re looking at? Nothin’
BSG at its worst is a million times better than this, and proves that it’s really possible to have smart tv writing and acting — so we should have it here too as well — with this amazing subject matter.
I think fans should scream for a complete quality make-over. thanks.
March 5th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
They needed to show more than just swat members falling into the pool. If I wanna imagine the action I will read a book. Spend more money for more action like the T1 and T2 movies!
March 6th, 2008 at 12:20 am
I assumed the swat troops getting thrown into the pool rather than shot up on screen was more a ratings issue, don’t forget its tv so they are more restricted in what they can show. and yeah as far as cameron goes that could be a ploy to replace her with another actress, then again perhaps they just replace her skin or something, or its some kind of misdirection to fool the T-888 into thinking shes dead and wasn’t actually in the car. just saying don’t read too much into stuff like that. Regardless its obvious that the writers strike did have an influence but I still think they’ll renew it for at least a second season.
March 6th, 2008 at 3:11 am
> BSG at its worst is a million times better than this
You’re joking, right? In the pilot of BSG, a cylon underwear model gives a handjob to an old man. Yeah, that’s better than TSCC.
BSG is so god-aweful, it makes the original BattleStar series look great.
> Spend more money for more action like the T1 and T2 movies!
A t.v. show will never have the budget of a blockbuster movie. Luckily, cheaper and more advanced technology means they can do T1 style effects on a t.v. show budget. But I’d rather they concentrate on story lines rather than eye candy.
March 6th, 2008 at 5:44 am
J-I’m sure that you’ve seen enough violence in your lifetime of viewing. Dare to enjoy a little creativity!
The FBI agent wasn’t killed because he posed no threat.
Fantastic cliffhanger-next season will be even better with
more humans fighting off skynet.
Question: Isn’t the 3rd movie irrelevant now that the future has been altered?
March 6th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
I am puzzled about some of the objections people have to episodes 8&9. Agent Ellison for example and his partner put a tactical team together to capture an inidividual who has been killing people while impersonating an FBI agent. It was perfectly logical to attempt to apprehend Cromartie. The Pool scene was superior because of the implied rather than depicted violence. Very Poignant too, with J. Cash’s song about Judgement Day playing during this climactic moment. Its a good tease, leaving folks wondering why Agen Ellison was spared. I suspect that SkyNet knows about Ellison and that he has been tracking the Connors down. He is allowed to live so that SkyNet can use him to find them. If folks keep complaining everytime someone tries something literate in TV then all we’ll get is Dreck. In my opinion this Show is well on its way to surpassing the original films!
March 6th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
I agree with brian, the Johnny Cash SWAT scene was pretty sweet, even if it lacked a lot of action it made up for it in intensity. I actually felt bad for those swat guys knowing they were gonna get wiped out.
I admit that without tivo I probably wouldn’t have started watching this series, but having watched all of the series I am hooked and looking forward to next season. And I hope they bring back Summer Glau, I have had a thing for her since Serenity.
March 6th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Cameron appears to be picking up more human traits with each episode - curiosity, untruthfulness, jealousy and even ruthlessness. In some ways her programming is much more advanced than that of the other terminators in the show. In the last episode, she even showed the ability to see beyond the “mission” and understand the big picture - e.g. hiding the chip and then having John hack it to see what the T888 was up to. The other plot twist that appears to be coming is John’s growing feelings for her. While the show talks about Moore’s Law, the development of the Skynet components (the Turk & Traffic System) seem in their infancy and their future advancement would still take more than a few years as the storie’s timeline eludes to. It would be more interesting to see a plot line where Cameron’s growing intelligence and soul evolves into Skynet. After all, man does like to play God…
March 6th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Did anyone else have problems with Skynet recently?
March 7th, 2008 at 1:44 am
Interesting comments. First of all, that episode was incredible(good). The deal with the con-man was an excellent side story to demonstrate that the good(relatively) guys are major league bad.
The scene with the pool and the swat team was one of the best snippets of television I’ve ever seen. I think it effectively reinforces what is easy to forget; that the each and every terminator is something to fear and fear deeply. With cute Cameron running around as the most visible future-bot we need the reminder of the horror that looms. The camera shot from the bottom of the pool was brilliant. Every body that hit drove home the feeling of defeat and hopelessness more and more. And the background music just made the whole scene even more macabre. Awesome. ….and if you don’t understand what the significance of the Lord of the Flies quote was, then you probably wont get more out any of the story than the bits of action you crave.
I actually like the scene in the park also. In that moment, Derek was more human than anyone in the show.
If you think that explosion at the end was enough to do more than curl Cameron’s hair, rewind and watch the FBI Raid scene again. Geez
March 7th, 2008 at 3:32 am
I liked them showing swat members falling in the pool. I’ve sen enough people get capped one after another on the tube and the big screen. I liked the different approach. Good art causes thought and audience completion, it worked in that regard. They got arty on us, that’s cool. I thought the show would suck, its pretty good, I’d say. Maybe not great, but about the best thing on the tube. I look forward to another season.
March 7th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Summer Glau is talking in interviews about the show being renewed, don’t know about that but she’s clearly on board with staying.
And they ain’t going to kill Summer off if she wants to stay. The fans love her, and this is a show on the ratings bubble. No way.
March 8th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
I’ll be honest Sashamac, I’m an enormous Terminator movie fan (except t3). I really thought that the series was going to be horrible, because the first and second and even third episode was struggling to reel me in. However, I think they’re really starting to move, and I’m getting really interested more in what happens to Cameron, Ellison, Chromartie, and John (more-so than sarah, lol)… Even the uncle seems pretty well implemented. For me, sarah is the one that seems like an appendix and unless they make her a little more complex, it’s hard for me to find her interesting.
J, I liked the pool scene a lot… only because it had a more cinematic feel to it for me. I’ve seen terminators rampage enough to know what happened; I was impressed they tool a relatively bland action scene and experimented with it.
March 8th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
ok, so who was the girl with blood on her shirt that walked into the barn where cameron and john , derek and sarah were?
Where did the blood come from?
What was behind Cameron giving her the gun and saying ” do i have to kill you?”
Was the girl supposed to girl herself?
I must have missed something in the show.
March 9th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
Look, if Cromartie realized that Cameron was a “T”, who’s to say the car bomb wasn’t thermite-based?
March 12th, 2008 at 11:07 am
Could anyone give some usefl info when the next season will start?? I don’t care wheather Cameron was in the car or not…. when is the next season aired guys? Thanks in advance!
March 12th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
I am totally hooked on the show now. Something about swatting SWAT teams into a swimming pool while playing Man In Black (Johnny Cash) just plain sends me. This is great.
BTW, for those who don’t know, we can nominate this series to become one of the top 40 greatest shows of all times at the following web site: http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/
You may vote every sixty minutes, as often as you like.
March 17th, 2008 at 5:48 am
Totally agree with jtizzle, this one’s a on its way to surpass the films. Pity the first season was so short. Can’t wait for the next season. But that depends on the TRPs, any one have a idea how the TRPs were in the US. Out here in Aus we are still on episode 5.
Thats the problem with Sci-Fi the lay people just don’t get it and starve us sci-fi junkies from our fare.
March 18th, 2008 at 7:24 am
is any1 know when douse s2 begins? can’t wait
March 23rd, 2008 at 6:15 am
Just finished watched all 9 episodes. So and so. Not as good as the old movies, but not as bad as some TV critics say.
I have a conspiracy theory. I think Cameron will become Skynet. It seems she is the only AI smart enough to bring upon the judgment day. Now the question is why Cameron turns evil and become Skynet. Here is my speculation. As you can see Cameron is picking up more and more human traits, so later in the series she may actually falls in love with John. John somehow like her initially, until he meet Kate, his future wife in T3. The fact that John dumped Cameron for Kate make Cameron go crazy and decided to kill all mankind out of jealousy, another female human trait she had picked up.

I just found this site so my comment is a little late. I really love this show and thought the last episode was really special. I especially like the way they handled the shooutout with “Kester”. BTW, the actor who protrays him is really good. Kester is scary!
April 22nd, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Loved the show. First episodes a little dull but helped develop characters and story arc- episodes 7-9 were terrific.
Summer Glau has great screen presence and is as good as in Firefly.
Hopefully we will see a full franchise develop and interact with a new batch of T-movies (T3 should be deleted from the mythology as was shockingly bad)
April 29th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
> The FBI agent wasn’t killed because he posed no threat.
Of course, the FBI agent posed a threat. He knew about terminators. That threatens Cromartie/Kester’s cover. Also, since when do terminators not terminate people just because they aren’t threats? There had to be another reason.
> Look, if Cromartie realized that Cameron was a “T”, who’s to say the car bomb wasn’t thermite-based?
Cromartie/Kester did not set the bomb. The guy who stole the Turk set up us the bomb.
May 8th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Well, I had some answers (I suposse)
1.-The girl with the blood on the shirt is family of the guys killed at home.
2.-The explosion is planned to kill Sarah, Derek or John, the guy who put the bomb don´t know that Cameron is a Terminator. Is to scare them and giveém the messagge “don´t get any closer or else…”
3.-Cromartie didn´t kill Ellison for someone reason, that will be to make Ellison join to Sarah (is a script reason, not a Terminator reason)
4.-Cromartie knows what is Cameron, he shot her in the first episode, remember? so if Cromartie see Cameron in the Highschool he had know where John lives. But there is something interesting at the High, the girl who says that she isn´t from Wichita acts kinda strange. Maybe is another terminator objetive? it couldn´t be a teminator or she had killed John.
There are so many questions and we must wait to see the second season to see the answers.
At last, this is not LOST, where we don´t know anything after four seasons!
May 14th, 2008 at 12:18 am
I truly really hope that Summer comes back for the next season, she’s the most interesting performance in the series (the character is great, but Summer really fuels it).
said in T2, “now I know why you cry, but it’s something I could never do”, so Cameron shouldn’t have any feelings.
Hevangel, that’s a great storyline! my only concern is that Arnie
I kept thinking about Cameron saying to the latin girl, “Do I have to kill you now?” what’s that?
