The episode starts off with Dr. David Lyman, a plastic surgeon, being threatened and made to do reconstructive surgery on Cromartie.

We see John upset over the suicide earlier that week. John becomes withdrawn from his mother, Sarah. They’re informed by Cameron that Cromartie made it through to the future. They discover a shipment of coltan being moved from Oakland to Los Angeles. This material is what’s needed to make the 800 terminator series. The group decide to get more information on this shipment. They see the coltan being moved and find out it’s been stolen. They follow the vehicle to a warehouse and find a different Terminator, Carter, running the show. John Connor wants to destroy the Terminator carter, but his mother does. Cameron tells Sarah that the colton amount there can make 530 Terminators; as a result, John climbs into the warehouse trying to plant his sell phone on a crate so it can be tracked. He gets locked inside. Sarah and Cameron disarm one of the men in the warehouse and interrogate him. They end up driving to McGuire Gunnery Range and to the Depot 37 military base seeking John (who was locked in the transport vehicle). Sarah and Cameron arrive at the location. Cameron informs Sarah that Skynet will make this location a factory in the future and that Coltan will be a rare metal needed.

Inside the facility, Carter kills his men and goes into stand-by, while facing the blast doors. John, inside with Carter, phones his mother. They open the door. John begins to drive the truck out, but Carter pushes on the front to stop him. Sarah shoots him with a shotgun, letting them get out before they lock Carter inside by resealing the doors.

Cameron drives the truck off a cliff so the cargo is unusable. Cameron keeps some coltan (for unknown reasons).

We also find Agent Ellison investingating at Dr. Lyman’s clinic. Thee see a man in the video footage who’s leaving after the Dr. died. The man’s name is Lazlo. They take a blood sample from him. Later, Lazlo returns home and is confronted with Cromartie, who looks exactly like Lazlo. He is then killed by the Terminator. Meanwhile, Agent Ellison debriefs and debates with his team about the case. Later, Agent Ellison arrives at Lazlo’s apartment and warns him that someone may be trying to steal his identity; Ellison doesn’t know that Cromatrie already has.
